Documentation

From localhost to live.

Everything you need to share your work. Start with a single tunnel, connect your stack, or make TezTun part of your workflow.

Start here

Your first tunnel

Create an account, connect a local service, and share your public HTTPS URL.

Choose your setup

Run TezTun in Docker Compose
Expose one service or your entire stack through one TezTun container, including built-in static hosting without nginx.
One process, multiple tunnels
Use teztun run with strict YAML configuration and an independent client, connection pool, and retry loop for every HTTP origin or static site.
Use TezTun from Claude Code & Claude Desktop
Manage your tunnels, subdomains, and tokens from inside your AI editor through the built-in TezTun MCP server.
Behind a reverse proxy
Stop the HTTPS redirect loop. Two-line configs for nginx, Rails, Django, Express, downstream Caddy / Traefik.

Explore what you can do

HTTP-aware tunnels
Use teztun http for web apps, APIs, SSE, and WebSocket upgrades. The local inspector shows headers and captured bodies up to 64KB.
Static sites without nginx
teztun serve includes SPA fallback, cache headers, ETags, conditional 304 responses, and Brotli or gzip precompressed assets.
Tunnel your localhost to a custom domain
Point myapp.com at your local server with a single DNS record. HTTPS is automatic via Let's Encrypt.
How to expose localhost to the internet
Share your local dev server with anyone — no port forwarding, no router config. Covers the common ways and when to use each.

Keep the reference close

CLI reference
Every teztun subcommand and every flag in one page, with copy-pasteable examples and env vars.
API reference
Every client-facing HTTP endpoint documented: auth, tunnels, domains, custom domains, service tokens, account.

Understand the connection

TCP tunneling, explained
What a tunnel actually is, how reverse tunnels work, and why they're the cleanest way to expose a service behind NAT.
A hosted ngrok alternative
Compare hosted and self-hosted tools, and learn how TezTun connects local apps through our public tunnel servers.
